It is Easier To Sell A Great Looking
Print On A Medium Quality Shirt
Than it is
To Sell A Bad Looking Print on A Good Shirt
When I work with a client I usually start with font choices
The font choices set the tone for the design
With online proofing it is easy for everyone an can be done at any time
of the day or night
It is only a matter of sending a link to others for an
opinion
We want to pick the most popular fonts, this increases the number of people
who will likely buy the shirt and wear it
The wording of your design looks different in different font styles

There are two types of artwork
Vector Art and Bitmap ArtScreen Printers Mostly Use Vector Artwork
Most all artists create bitmap artwork
Start with this blowup of 1/4 inch letters resolution 1000 dpi -over three times the resolution of what most bitmap artists send me
![]()
Most artists work with small images that fit on a piece of paper, so they must be blown up
The example is below is 4 times bigger - guess which one is the vector?

Vector File Formats- CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator
and PDF
Any File Size Okay
Bitmap File Formats- Jpeg and Gif
The Larger The File Size The Better
Or just send me what you have and let me see what we
have to work with
I don't mind if I need to redo your logo
There Are Two Basic Garments That Affect Artwork
Light Colored Garments Decorated With A Dark Ink
Dark color Garments Decorated With Light Color Ink

Print your art on the left on a light color garment and it looks fine
Take that same design and print it with white ink on a black shirt and it
looks stupid
It doesn't mean that you can't use the art on the left for the shirt,
it just means that you just need someone who knows how to adapt it - they
may not do it for free like me, but if you want to sell your shirts, they
really need to look nice
Doesn't This Look Nicer

To Create This Image Screens Are Created For Each Color

Full Color Printing
I am not talking about digital transfers
Colors are created by overprinting 4 transparent colors on a white shirt
Yes, you can print on other colors, but here is what happens

The four transparent inks are just like your inkjet -Yellow, Magenta, Cyan
and Black

Unlike digital transfers
Adding print colors to a shirt increases the labor required (price)
When the quantity of shirts increases
The price goes down since there are more shirts to absorb the setup costs
Artwork Matters
A printed t-shirt will create word of mouth advertising for a small organization for years in a local community.
The more it gets worn the more good it can do
A Good Design Should Sell At Least 3 Times In A Rescue
